We didn't dress for fashion, but rather for WARMTH! Note Luke's longjohns!

Getting ready for sleddingThe Friday after Christmas we trekked to Palomar Mountain and stayed in the Bailey House (pictured at top). Ryan's uncle, Ron, was gracious to make all the acommodations for the families. It was a blast. Snow all around - not the powerdery kind, but the icy kind that makes you think twice before frolicking because if you fall, it is going to hurt! The kids still tried to throw snow balls though they were more like ice clods. Sledding was equally precarious, but the danger made it all the more fun!

Luke was not quite himself, which we've come to find out was likely due to cutting two teeth and rosiola. Three weeks before the trip he'd been working himself up to waking up 6 or so times a night. His sleeping habits were going haywire! During the trip he was up even more than that. One night after our return he was up a dozen times! He seems recovered now, though he has developed a new cough and runny nose. Tis the season, I guess!
I'm thrilled to be back to only one or two wake ups a night though! Ryan will tell you - I don't handle sleep deprivation well!

Loved seeing the pics from your first Christmas as a family. Luke is getting so big I can't even believe it. He looks so much like you Renee! We have his pics posted all over our refrigerator.
Hopefully I'll get motivated and put our pics up on our site soon too... Love you guys - be praying for you as always!
