Ok - so we did the typical visit to Waikiki's famous stip on Thursday afternoon, couldn't find any authentic Hawaiian food so ended up eating at Cheesecake factory which didn't disappoint. Luke tried a high chair for the first time, which ended up being a delightful advance for Ryan and I who could focus on our food without juggling the monchichi! However, this allowed for Luke to also focus on our food very intensely. He was living vicariously through each of my bites - so much so that two other couples at nearby tables were watching him take "air bites" and chew at the same time I did. We decided Luke was ready for a little food and got him some rice cereal on the way back to the hotel. Luke loved it! He tried to spoon it into his mouth himself.
On Friday we ate at Duke's in Waikiki and both almost had nervous breakdowns trying to navigate through the streets back to H1. The signs are not helpful at all. Overall, we decided that we don't ever have to go to Waikiki again. It was like La Jolla and Fashion Valley with even worse traffic than LA. Despite the trouble, Ryan and I did enjoy an amazing sunset at Duke's.
Here are some snapshots of Luke on Thursday afternoon and Friday evening.
