Jesus' Birthday Celebrations (aka Christmas!)

We had several Christmas celebrations with family:
  • One with my Dad and Becky with Becky's son, Scott, who is in the army, his wife, Jennifer and their son, Ethan
  • A small but delightful dinner with my mom and dad. We got them zoo passes but wrapped them in a box inside another box, etc. Luke couldn't help himself from unwrapping their present since he thought it was so funny!
  • And finally we had a Christmas day celebration with Ryan's mom and dad, brothers and sisters, et al.
  • Ryan spoiled Lukey this year with lots of loot! I swear, he would come home with a little at a time until we kind of forgot how many things there were! Above you can see Luke with his prized drum set, his favorite, even above the new bike!

One tradition we have continued to do is Operation Christmas Blessing. We pack a shoebox for a child who may have never received a Christmas present or heard about Jesus. This year we were able to send out 8 shoeboxes. We started with 2, and try to do 2 more each year as God continues to doubly bless us. We also enjoyed the Christmas Eve service at Maranatha. I dressed the boys in "old fashioned" church clothes. Yeah, remember the days when you actually dressed up for church? Luke wore a white collared shirt with a red, clip-on polar bear tie with his jeans and converse. Levi wore a red sweater vest and jeans. It was so cute. No picture though; that one will just have to remain burned in my memory!
